Well That Could Do It…

We are blessed to live ina  community with side walks-a huge step up from our old neighborhood!  We are even more blessed to live within shouting distance of our local high school which has a quarter mile track, or if we aren’t feeling the track a wonderful public library that equals a miles walk.

Almost every night, or at least every third we go walking and last night was no exception.  We walked the half mile to the track and then walked an additional 6 laps around the track and then home.  We were gone for almost an hour.  We figure we walked about 3 miles.

So while I’m not exactly firing up the Active I guess I’m more active than I realized…so perhaps that does explain the 1.8 pounds in 10 days…well that and eating cereal for dinner last night probably helped.

How Does That Happen?

It had been 10 days since I weighed myself, and well frankly I wasn’t expecting miracles.  To be honest I wasn’t expecting any thing at all except maybe some gain.  So Imagine my surprise when I discover that I have lost 1.8 pounds!

I am now only 15 pounds away from my goal of being at 200 pounds!

When I started this blog (or my original weight loss blog) I was at about 221 according to my Wii Fit board.  At first I yo yo’d through the ups and downs of 3 pounds here and 3 pounds there.  So much to the point were I lost faith in the Wii Board.  Then I discovered Wii Active and for the first 30 days I preformed with it like gang busters and it worked!  I lost weight!  My husband, my friends, my family all commented on my weight loss-though I often didn’t believe them.

Then I went to my endocrinologist and we changed up my Metformin to Metformin XR (extended release)…then I lost my job…and I stopped working out.  Even so my husband and sister both commented that “You’ve lost more weight”  Though I’m not believing them….I’m thinking that they are just being nice, but then I weigh myself and sure enough 1.8 pounds!

I’m shocked, thrilled, and encouraged.  I’m sure that a great portion of this comes from the Metformin–as I have often been told by women “I lost weight without even trying while on Metformin”  so I can only imagine the weight I could continue to loose if I just tried a little bit harder, stepped back into my Wii Active roll, and continue to really make an effort so that I don’t have to say “1.8 pounds lost, how the heck does that happen?”
